i had downloaded a programme a week or so ago and then deleted it, but I now
appear to have files - with not very nice names which have come onto my pc, I
only discovered this when I was doing my anti-virus scan when loads of them
appeared to be scanned. They end in .zip I have tried searching for the
files using bits of the names eg bitch and nothing comes up I have hidden
files and folders showing and being searched in - I really want rid of these
as not only did I not download them but they mean the virus scan takes
forever 6hrs when it was only about 30mins before.

Any help would be grateully appreciated.

You can go this route:
Start/Run CMD <enter>

In the CMD window type:
CD \ <enter>
ATTRIB -H -R /S /D *.* <enter>

This will unhide all your files and make your Defrag more efficient.

The command removes the hidden and read only bits from all but your
system files.

in your Av program's test results, you ought to have the option to
delete the files or send them to a virus vault. (dump the Recycle
after delete) either way will remove them from the eyes of the next AV
scan
