Hidden files at start up

I'm using Windows XP Professional. Every time I start up, my hidden files
come up and I have to click close to get rid of it. How do I make it stop?

What do you mean by "hidden files come up"?

Well, that kind of defeats the purpose of hiding them, doesn't it?

What's generating the message? Any clue?
 
yes. I find myself talking to the comp. It says 'these files are hidden' and
I actually say NO they're not! Anyway the window says system 32 at the top
and I've been having other windows open that use the phrase 'system32'
somewhere and error messages about it
