hidden file wont delete from recycle bin

When I empty the recycle bin I receive following message:
"cannot delete desktop: file or path name not found"

There is no desktop file visible in the recycle bin in the
first place. Is the recycle bin corrupted or is there a
hidden file that I cannot see?

Hello Joe

It seems as if you have a file called desktop.ini that does not show as a file in the gui, in the recycle bin

Go to a CMD prompt and cd\recycle
then dir /a - it will show you a long folder name
CD into that folder and run a DIR /
Does it show a Desktop file ? You should be able to delete it here
