Recently I started to use this function on my XP home, broadband
desktop. Lately, I noticed after each time I 'awake' it, most of the
times I find that my browsers are either sluggish or not responding. It
seems that I have to reboot and then all is well. Maybe this is the
wrong forum for this problem, but doing a search for subscribing under
hibernation showed nothing..so I'm sorry if anyone gets offended by this
question. and hope they would steer me to the right 'path'.

Hi
it might depends on how you are connected to your Broadband connection. What
type of connection, and how authentication is done.
When the computer comes out of Hibernation the network is still configured
with the IP as it was when you switched the computer Off.
The IP on the Network (Internet) might be different when the computer is up
again, and you need to release and renew.

This is a pretty common problem and most often is caused by outdated or
buggy drivers. You could try updating the drivers for your network adapter
to see if that helps but oftentimes the only cure is not to use standby
modes that cause problems like this.

A simple workaround would be to disable the network connection before
hibernating and enable it after waking up.
