I was wondering whether it's possible to create a bootable cd (or
partition) that contains WindowsXP Pro in (a previously saved)
Hibernate mode (or StandBy mode).

What i'm trying to achieve is to load easily windows xp with a
specific configuration, whenever needed. I want basically to create an
image of the 'hibernated' pc, and run that from CD, or from a second
partition if possible.

I want to protect that configuration, meaning that i dont want it ever
overriden
(eg by shutting down properly the PC, or cause of windows errors).

Can this be done at all ?
Is there shareware program that will simplify the process ?

I am fairly sure I have no real idea what you are trrying to do EXACTLY.
But you can make a bootable XP CD, that truly boots the XP OS for up to 24
hours..
