PLEASE CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY EVER SINCE I DOWNLOADED XP
SP2 EVERYTIME I TRY TO USE OUTLOOK EXPRESS I GET THE
FOLLOWING MESSAGE:-Your server has unexpectedly
terminated the connection. Possible causes for this
include server problems, network problems, or a long
period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.freeserve.com',
Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure
(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

The problem is probably the firewall that gets turned on when SP2 is
installed.
To test it you can:

1.
Click Start and then click Control Panel.

2.
In the control panel, click Windows Security Center.

3.
Click Windows Firewall.

Then turn off the firewall. Reboot and see if you outlook works. If it does
you need to tweak the firewall settings if you want the firewall enabled

This link might give you some tips on how to configure the firewall.
