HELP!!!!

First i want to thank all those who have sent me help. But it seems nothings is working, i downloaded removal tools, for trojans, mydoom, blaster, welchia, ive probably done like 10 scans and removal tools, all come back with no virus found. My systems seems fine, no lost or corrupted files,but i cant use use the net, i get a message "no page to display" on all sites that i attempt to log on, i cant use MSN Messsenger , nor Kazaa , I smetimes get a program not responding message and when i click to send report it sends , i can even download live updates from symantec (doesnt that come throught the internet) so if i can do live updates and send error message doen that me the connection is working, my ISP provider checked and its fine, the ping are ok , so why wont my programs that use internet access work, could my ethernet card be bad, should i delete or install a new internet explorer browser, i tried that but it requieres me being connected to the internet and it stops, says unable to install.r should i quit and send it to a computer repair shop. or throw it out, i havent had it not even for a year. please please advise
 
I haven't read any previous posts so I do not know the background. However,
Do you have winsock proxy installed or some other proxy tool?

You said Pings work,

Symantec update works,

but IE and other applications do not?

Yes , the ping is ok and the updates work. I dont know about the proxy, how can i find that out?
 
Check "add/remove programs" applet in the control panel.

Iza,
might I suggest you go to a site that removes parasites on an hourly basis
and has all the tools and expertise to assist you with your problem. ( link
provided below )

Sounds like you're spending a lot of time and energy and having no results.
Let someone else take up the chase and give yourself time to catch your
breath.

I've seen that problem when firewall software has gone bad. If that's your
problem, you need to uninstall it completely -- and I mean down to every
entry in the registry and every folder and file, and then reinstall it and
make sure it's configured properly.
 
Iza, when did this URL access failure begin? Is this intermittent? Do I
understand that this applies to certain sites and not to others
consistently, for example, Kazaa has always been affected but Symantec
never? When this denial of access ("no page to display") happened, did you
notice a correction, or no correction, with a close-and-reopen operation
(switching off and on again) of Internet Explorer? Has this malfunction
ever affected Outlook Express (or any other mail reader you are using) as
well?

Does it make any difference if you repeat the same actions with nothing
on --- eh....I mean with a clean boot and no ZoneAlarm, no firewall except
the built-in Internet Connection Firewall? If your connection to the ISP is
mediated by a proxy, what is it?

I hope that by now you have solved your problem, but if you haven't any success how about trying this

open the internet options, in the control panel, and/or wherever else it is located
click connections tab; click setting
and in the proxy server category uncheck both boxes; click ok
now you should be back under the connections tab
now click on lan settings and in the proxy category uncheck both proxy server boxes here as well click ok
and hopefully this will solve your proble

You may need to reboot before this works...
