Step one - buy another copy/license for Windows XP for your other machine.
You cannot use the same copy/license to install to more then one PC it is
already installed on another machine.

Then see the links that Carey provided.

Thanks Mike for the response, but it is a nonworkable solution. I am not going to pay again for something that I have already paid for. If someone would just put down in writing how to deploy windows to another computer in terms that nontechies could understand, there would not be a problem.

The you will be illegaly pirating our softwar for use ona second machine.

You paid for ONE copy/license of Windows XP which is valid for use on ONE
PC.
This is covered in your End User License Agreement that you agreed to when
you installed the product and you can view anytime on the link on the screen
from
Start .... Run ... winver

Please don't try and think of analogies of CDs or movies etc - it is not the
same

The box even has that clear statement about one PC per license.

You have paid for what you have installed - noone in this newsgroup is going
to assist you in "pirating" a second copy. If you want XP on your second
computer - go buy another license and then we can sit down and talk about
it.

To those of you who think that it is piracy to want the same os on two computers in the same home, I guess you have microsoft so far up your *** that anything you have to say does not concern me. I think I'll find a user friendly os.
