What "BIOS thing"?! The BIOS has nothing whatsoever to do with Windows, just
like Windows has nothing whatsoever to do with the BIOS. You don't need an
OS installed to access the BIOS. Do you even know what the BIOS is?!

She's not only mean, she's a total ¢ünt! It's the result from an incurable form of a yeast infection that she has, where she's itching to insult others all the time.

Wow, is yellow puss or maybe a frothy discharge involved? Don't know if
I want to reply to her anymore. Might catch something :)

I hate to laugh too - but man are you stupid! You are the moron who told
someone to connect their CAMCORDER via USB!! If they make you an MVP then
the programme will lose all credibility. Your challenge is to attach a USB
cable to a firewire port. Camcorders use FW, they have *NEVER* used USB
because of the shared bus. FW has a dedicated bus - all FW devices will
transfer at the same speed and video transfer requires a constant speed.

Do your research before answering. I've yet to see one correct reply from
you. I'm putting you in the same category as Andrew the Eejit and Pop.

What do you bet that she will NEVER apologize to you.

Jerks never admit it when they are wrong.

Don't listen to that bint Nathan, she cannot feel happy unless she inflicts the image upon others of being stupid, due to her inability to offer kind quality help; it is because she has ¢üntitis!

She obviously doesn't know much about Firewire for one thing! Since there are two versions of both USB and Firewire, her statement is utterly wrong, and it simply from her own arrogance and self belief in that she is omniscient in PC hardware and software.

There are many video type devices that NOW use USB 2.0 (not 1.1) because of the higher data transfer rate 2.0 offers and that these types of devices need. FW 1394a has a slower transfer rate than does USB2.0, so right there you'd be able to confirm what you claimed anyway. FW 1394b is faster than USB2.0, but is that widely used yet.

You can see why she is the way she is by looking at this image of her, she is not the one with nice long brown hair, and not a man of course, but you may conclude she may be simply something (LOL):

Ok... WRONG. Camcorders do use USB and you should read that post again
because they said connecting through USB worked. How about a picture for
the almighty Miss Perspicacia Tick? Who is the MORON who said they
NEVER use USB and can't connect through USB? Here is a link to one of
many camcorders that use USB (Sony Handycam DCR-DVD Series being one of
them):

Read towards the bottom.

First off, USB 2.0 has a faster throughput than FW, 60 MB/s to 50 MB/s
respectively. Streaming video requires 3.5 MG/s. Second, why not use
USB, it is less expensive (that's why you don't see any FireWire
keyboards and mice around).

Lastly, you are an idiot. Now stop nocking other people and turn off
your computer.

Camcorders use FW moron. And, even if they did use USB, which they don't,
the OP specified FW and you told him to hook it up to the USB port and
download the pictures! 1) Camcorders take video, not stills (OK they do but
that's not their primary function) and 2) you're obviously some kind of
genius if you can hook up a FW cable to a USB port! I'm still laughing now!

You ignorant bint!, here it says this http://tinyurl.com/6ez2o, "USB 2.0 Interface
USB 2.0 interface provides an easy way to connect your DVD Digital Handycam camcorder to computers for fast transfer of video and still images to your computer for editing. The camcorder can also be used as an external DVD burner, convenient for making copies of your DVDs or burning edited movies."

So, does USB2.0 on their site mean FW LOL??

That's rich, you change it up simply because the OP mentioned FW, and you stand by that, though you still say USB cannot be used, though Sony's own site states otherwise.

Ha, keep digging you blind bat. Read the fricking OP:

Have a canon 630 i digi camcorder. i cannot download my
movies onto dvd . have purchased and installed video
editing kit . it worked to start with but now camera is
not recognised. nothing happens when i connect camera via
firewire.when connected by usb for still pictures it was
ok but now i get the sound if something is connected but
no wizard.

simple replies please not very computer literate

Here, in case you can't read the whole thing, I snip part out for you:

"when connected by usb for still pictures it was ok but now i get the
sound if something is connected but no wizard"

They obviously have USB on that camcorder too. Oh my, but that can't be.
Miss Perspicacia Tick says that camcorders do not use USB. Well, I
guess since Miss Perspicacia Tick says so, even though I'm looking right
at it, it can't possibly exist. Gee, I wonder what this USB port and
cable must be for? I guess it must be a cosmetics thing or something.

And you still can't read. I never said camcorders don't use FW. Most of
them do. And yes, here's a little lesson for you in case you need a
refresh:

USB 1.1 = 12 Mbps or 1.5 MB/s
USB 2.0 = 480 Mbps or 60 MB/s
FW 1394a = 400 Mbps or 50 MB/s
FW 1394b = 800 Mbps or 100 MB/s

Now, how much data did I say is required to transfer video from a
camcorder? Oh, that's right 3.5 MB/s. Let's see, that means that all of
those could be used except USB 1.1 and that's only if you wanted to
stream the video. The fact is, some camcorders use removable media such
as smart cards, SD Cards, etc, that hold data and when you connect it
through USB you can pull that data off. It is also possible to record
video to these cards as well. To even further that, if there is nothign
but a USB connection on a camcorder, how the hell are you supposed to
connect it to the computer? Now you explain how to do that and I'll
tell you how to hook up a FW into a USB.

Oh yeah, and you can turn your computer off now.

Perhaps emotions are a bit high. I have read very informed post from each of you on varied subjects. Name calling and derogatory remarks will not serve the people who need help. Maybe we should all move on at this point.

Haha, I'm only returning the favor. No high emotions here and note my
phrasing/words in my post as I stole it from one of her previous post
where I also misread the post. I could care less and I'm sure she feels
the same way. But I do have to ask where you have seen her reply with a
well informed post. All she does is belittle people and only posts when
she thinks someone has made a mistake just to make herself feel better.
