My daughter's computer suffered a major "crash" last
night and I am trying to fix it. After trying to re-
install XP home edition a number of times, I decided to
format C drive and install from fresh.

Every time I go to install XP it "freezes" in one place
and the following error message appears:

" The signature for windows XP Home Edition is invalid
Error code 800b0100 - no signature was present in the
subject"

This is an Older copy of XP,which I bought and installed
on this computer some time ago, I still have the product
key etc etc. The computer is running an Athelon chip at
600mz with 512Mb of RAM and an 80 gig segate hard drive.

Any solutions suggestions would be very welcome

regards

Please check the following Knowledge Base Article and see if it helps or
applies:

Try installing with no USB devices attached (other than mouse if
appropriate). Also disconnect all external devices (printer, etc) except
your monitor. Make sure that the boot virus scan is disabled in the BIOS.

You should have no problem installing if you observe all of the above
precautions.

Bobby,

Again thanks for the advice but I am still having the
same trouble. Has anyone got any other ideas?
