Help

I was trying to download a new drive for my HP printer and
some how screwed up. Now I get a message that
reads "Windows could not staart because the following file
is missing or corrupt. <windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please reinstall a copy of the above file."

Could someone please tell my how to fix this and walk me
through it?

Try this click on start , run and then type sfc /scannow notice the space between sfc and / . You will need the windows cd . Hope this helps.
