Hi

I noticed a problem with my wife's computer (XP would load, sound and all but the monitor went blank). I went in to safe mode and did a virus check. It found a trojan horse (krepper?). The program helped to delete some infected files but not all (twaincab.exe I think or just twaincab would not delete among others). So I decided to reload Windows XP to I hope repair the infected files or replace them. But the same thing is happening. What do I do now?

Perform a clean install:

Good luck

If you did a repair install it just repairs/replaces Windows files, it
doesn't do anything about deleting viruses. So whatever virus was there
before would still be there afterward.

You can search for and manually delete the virus files, you can look up the
virus at one of the AV sites and see what they recommend and/or you can try
a different AV software to see if it will delete the file.

You might also try your virus scan in safe mode.
