help .....

Hi nice people....I need help to solve a problem...please, I have internet through phone line and if I don t unplug the wire before the phone and the computer and people call home it makes a fax sound like the computer is still connecting to something...does anybady know what i m doing wrong...basicly i have to unplug the wire as soon as I m done with internet and if i forget we are not reachable on our phone line..thank you...france bye..
 
Hmm, it seems as if your modem (external or PCI card?) doesn't
interrupt itself from its external ISP-Server (Internet)!
So try to disconnect yourself from the Internet by terminating the
connection by clicking at the modem icon (double monitor) which
supposed to be displayed on your system tray (left of your clock).
(And then select this disconnection manually).

You may also want to disable fax recieve, through control
panel>printers,fax(right click)>properties. If it is
enabled then the fax will pick-up with an incoming call.

just anextra add on some systems have an answering system I'm not sure if yours dose but you might want to check the setings on them. They are not supost to give a hand shake to audio calls but i have known it to happen. sorry but i don't have details each system is different.
