I have 2 problems. 1) When I go the Windows update it shows that there are updates available but they won't download. I click on the download now button and nothing happens. It can sit there for hours but when I go to navigate to another page I get a message not to leave this page or the download will fail. ANY IDEAS? 2) Outlook Express is used to read my Hotmail and when it downloads the messages it downloads 2 copies. I saw an article about this but I can't find it anywhere.

Hi Plumber,

- From Start > Run > msconfig disable third-party utilities, such as
Download Accelerator.
- Verify that the date and hour of the system is correct.
- from Control Panel > Internet Options, delete Temporary Internet
Files, cookies and History.
- From IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced options tab, verify
that you have unchecked the option to verify revocation of server
certificates.
- From IE > Tools > Internet Options, click in language and verify
that you have defined the language of your operating system.
- Delete the folder 'catroot2' which is in \Windows\System32
- Reboot the system and try to update from Windows Update.
