Heres my setup;

Primary Master (34GB) C: with no Windows operating system installed but has
several files needed for XP, ie:
System Vol. Info Folder
Autoexec and Config. sys
Boot. ini, msdos, io.sys
Ntdetect, Ntldr and Page file sys.

Primary Slave (160GB) D: drive with Windows XP.

I would like to have the 160 GB drive as the Primary Master as the boot
drive with windows XP and simply keep the 34GB drive for backing up etc.
What's the easiest way of doing this?
If I copy the C: drive files above to the root of D, do the cable switch
will XP then boot?

Thanks

No, you can't copy to transfer system.
I think you have to switch the 160GB HDD to master by jump, and switch the
34GB HDD to slave by jump.
Because PC boots from master HDD.
Second, you can use GHOST to transfer the partition from 34GB to 160GB HDD.
I think it can be done in a half hour.

Thanks Ben, and yes I would change the jumpers on both HD. Its just I was
dual booting with Win98SE on the 34GB drive and XP on the 160.
I have now only 8 files on C: because I reformatted the drive and would now
like the 160 GB as my boot drive.
Do I need to keep the Boot.ini file?
