I was wondering if i run the system recovery disks for
xp home, If it would get rid of a trojan horse?
I read in my pc manul that it restores the system back to
the way it was when u bought it. Will the trojan be
left behind ?...

thanks, but i have tried everything. my nortons let me
now when i got it but wont find it in a scan. and when
it notified me about the trojan , it said access denied
and unable to repair. and i have used 4 differnt trojan
scanners. nothing the only thing nortons says is that its
a trojan horse no further info.

If the trojan resides in the restore folder it cannot be
cleaned by any virus soft. If the virus soft does not
give a location, or it shows it's in the restore folder
you have to shut off restore, scan and clean again. then
put restore back on again. CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION!
Turning off restore ERASES ALL RESTORE POINTS. Anyway, if
you shut off restore and get rid of the viruses, turn on
restore and set a restore point when the system is clean,
then you can restore to that point if you get caught with
a trojan again. Just went through this today... Only one
trojan found in the restore file. had to delete all
restore points, but now i'm clean...

I have scaned with the restore off and in safe mode still
didnt find anything. but i no i have it cause a nortons
window came up and said unable to repair unable to access.
i have tried trojan removers and all kind off virus
software and im running nortons 2003. and i turn it off
when i use just the trojan remover software. and still
nothing...darn trojans.
