Help with WindowsZP

I uninstalled and reinstalled WindowsXP. Since then, I have updated through
the web for the security patches and all that. I also upgraded to IE7. Now,
my computer doesn't recognize my printer (as it did before) and I can't view
pictures in Outlook Express or click html links in my emails. What have I
done wronge.
