I did a repair installation after upgrading my mobo/cpu/ram. Everything
seemed to go pretty smooth, no errors or anything. But the oddest thing,
in Device Manager, if I look at IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, it shows three
"Primary IDE Channels", three "Secondary IDE Channels", and three "Standard
Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller". Each one says its working fine, using
same drivers. Also, under System Devices, I have multiple copies of "PCI
standard Host CPU Bridge", "PCI-to-PCI bridge", and "Motherboard Resources".
Additionally, three of each USB item under USB Controllers.
What gives? Please don't tell me I have to do another repair, this one went
so smooth - and I finally just now finished getting all the critical updates
reinstalled when I noticed this glitch in device manager.
Has anyone ever seen this, what should I do? Uninstall the duplicates? I'm
afraid to do this unless anyone has a link or first hand experience. I'm
waiting to install the mobo-specific drivers until I get this thing figured
out.
Thanks
