Once I download a template and get it the way I want it as
a Word document. How do I stop the template help window
from coming up everytime I open the document? I am
merging into it with ACT! and don't need to use it as a
template.

Thanks for any assistance.

Rich

If you use File>New to create a new document from the template and use that
new document with ACT! (whatever that is) does that solve your problem?

ACT! is a customer relationship program that does a lot of good things, but
also tries to 'improve' Word by saddling it with extra functionality that
interferes with just about everything. Bizarrely, it uses its own concept of
'template' that is neither fish nor fowl nor good red herring. It uses its
own version of 'field' for inserting customer data -- these fields are not
CTRL-F9 fields, nor mailmerge fields: a cludge in other words.

File > New isn't an option in this case, because the document is triggered
from the ACT! menu, not from within Word. Talk about working backwards!
Instead of building on Word's strengths, they've replaced Word's functions
with their own, inferior equivalents.
