my task manager isn't working. a red box comes up saying my task management has been stopped by my administrator. where do i go to turn it back on? thanks

Ask yourself these questions:
-when did this problem first occur (date?)
-have you downloaded or installed any new applications?
-have you installed any new hardware?
-have you tried system restore?
-the RED BOX says "task manegement has been stopped by the
administrator?........yes?
-who is the administrator of the computer........you?
-Possible solution:
a) try system restore (go to help and support, click system restore and follow
the instructions...........if this does not work..........,
b) try creating a new Administrator account (go to control panel, click
user accounts..........and follow the instructions.
If neither works: go to: support.microsoft.com/default.aspx
-click knowledge base
-under select a microsoft product, click troubleshooting wizard
-under search for, type task manager----then review the articles.......,

-I don't know the solution, review the above.

Are you using XP Pro or Home?
Are you using the system at home or at work?
If Pro, then you need to start/run gpedit.msc and reenable the policy here:
User Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/CAD options
If Home, then you can use the Tweak from MVP Doug Knox here:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_taskmgrenab.htm
If you are at work, and using your company's machine on their network, then
you need to contact the network administrator.
