I'm having a heck of atime trying to determine my incoming and outgoing
servers. I've searched the windows mail help and saw three options for each:
IMAP, SMTP, and POP3. I set my original e-mail account for POP3. I can send
messages, but not receive. Help!

From WinMail, Select: "Tools" > "Accounts"
Highlight your Mail Server & click on "Properties". Then: ..

In the "Mail Servers Properties Box" try the following:

Incoming mail server = POP3
Incoming mail (POP3) = pop.your ISP name.com eg: pop.sky.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP)= smtp.your ISP name.com eg: smtp.sky.com
E-Mail user name = the first part of your email address (b4 the @ sign)
eg: john.smith

Remember Password box: Tick
Logon using secure password authentication: Do NOT Tick - (leave blank)
Mail server requires authentication: Tick

Good Luck & I Hope that works for you!

im having the same issue with my mail server as well and im looking for help
.. do you know who to contact to gain this information? did you resolve your
issue ? i dont know how to find out who is my mail server! help me if you
can!

Who is your internet provider? Most people choose their internet provider
as their email provider also, since most internet accounts include one or
more email accounts.

I did a Ctrl-F3 on your message and the extra headers this showed included
this line:

X-WBNR-Posting-Host: 72.226.210.251

I then did a tracert on 72.226.210.251 and the last few sites in the results
ended in .rr.com, which suggests that you sent your message from a
Roadrunner site. If so, see if this leads you to their instructions:

You are the best authority for knowing which email address you use.
What is the part after the @ symbol?

Is your Yahoo account a free US-based one?
If so, it does not have POP access, only webmail access.
You can pay Yahoo $19.99 per year to get their MailPlus
service, which does have POP access.

Incidentally, never post your real email address to a newsgroup.
It will be gathered by spammers.
