help with resources & winword

my sister is running a Gatway win98 2nd edition - 128 mb mem and was
running winword2000 successfully up till 2 days ago - now all of the sudden
it says that there is not enough memory to open hte program - it drops from
75% to 55% - no other programs are open at the time she tries to open
winword2000 - she has also backed up to a week ago and nothing works. She
has also uninstalled winword 2000 and then reinstalled - no luck ... any
ideas why all of the sudden she can't open this program?

Pam;

Make sure Word is closed.
Do a Search for Normal.dot
Delete Normal.dot.
Normal.dot will be recreated when you open Word again.
You will lose customized settings.

Hi Pam,
did you right click local disk (c and look at the properties of it? Iam
wondering if she is running out of room on c disk. Look at the pie chart she
may need to remove a few more programs. Does she download from the internet
allot? Exp: free programs; screensavers; music? Good Luck! Bob.
