Can someone point me in the right direction for reformatting my WinBook
laptop? I'm currently using Windows XP Pro with SP 2 installed. I've been
inundated with spyware and absolutely nothing will get rid of it/them (I've
tried 'em all with no success.) Time to reformat but, I don't know how. I
have the Windows XP Pro disc.

Please help...Keith

There is a similar problem in a later post. I also responded to thier
problem. So i will give you the same response. I would try going the
way of DOS and boot the XP machine into Dos mode. You'll have to move
to the A: drive or something so be sure you and a disk in the drive
(but dont boot with it in the drive). Next type "format C:" or the
corresponding leter to ur
harddrive. It will ask you yes or no. Im sure you'll want to choose
yes. Afterwards name the volume label when it asks (dont need to but
can if you wish.) Reboot ito CD and see if that works any better.
You can also go the routse of inserting the CDRom in the Drive and
click Repair. Although Im not sure if that will fix ur problem.
Best of Luck

Hi

If you install via 'DOS', use a Win 9x EBD to boot the PC with, then select
'With CD Support'. After the format you can put the XP CD into the cd drive
and install using i386\winnt.exe - no need to reboot then. Make sure that
smartdrive is loaded before the install starts, otherwise it will taks
hours.
