Connected to an Intellinet fast ethernet switch. I have my pc and several
others connected to this also. My pc displays 100Mbps along with the others.

I just noticed with the pc off, the light is amber on the Intellinet switch
at the 100m spot on port 2 (where the pc in question in plugged in) when I
cut the pc on it goes out.

Thank you.

Have you verified that the Intel Pro/100 VE network adapter is working properly in Device
Manager ?

Check the Duplex-Settings for the Intel Pro/100 VE network adapter. Set it 100Mb/s
Full-Duplex. Make sure the patch cable is Cat5 and is in good condition. Try swapping with
another, known good, patch cable.

Examine the lights on both the Notebok and E-Switch and see if you have both send and
receive lights (if they exist) on both the Notebook and the E-Switch.

Internal network which supports 100? Does another PC plugged into the
same jack work at 100? Does your PC work at 100 when plugged into a
different jack which is known to be good? Have you tried swapping
interconnect cable? There are many possibilities here including improper
drivers and/or settings.
