Hi to you all...

I have a small problem with ordering....

I want to have my data ordered by ascending order... problem is cell b
WONT order itself... why ?

let say i have this data

B2 : P0012
B3 : P0011
B4 : P0015
B5 : P0014

and i do a order by in ascending order i finish with :

B2 : P0012
B3 : P0011
B4 : P0014
B5 : P0015

why wont B2 order itself ? can it be locked ?

I tried with different input to be sure it was not only a typo erro
(like i putted a _ before my data) and it still wont work...

thanks in advance...

I'm guessing that you're clicking on the A->Z icon on the worksheet menubar.

And excel is guessing you have headers in your range--so it keeps B2 as the
header.

I don't trust that icon. I select my whole range and then do Data|sort.

There's an option in that dialog "My list has" header row or no header row.

Depending on what you selected, check the box appropriately.

It sounds like if Excel understands the B2 cell is the title of the column.
Review the check box referring to "1st row as header row" (not sure about
the real text in English version for that - am Spanish user :-) ; be sure
the "No" option is selected.
