Help with formul-easy for you guys I think.

Help. I need to know the formula to figure this out. I need the
formula for the cells with the question marks. Example: The total
Dances column would be 2 for Bill, 0 for Ann, 2 for Harry, 0 for
Walter. Then I need the other to columns filled in as well. I hope
this makes some sense. This was completely made up but I can adapt it
to a real problem I am having at work.
Thanks for any help.

Bill Dance 1 Total Dances Eats Fun
Bill Dance 1 Bill 2 ? ? ?
Harry Dance 1 Ann 1 ? ? ?
Harry Dance 1 Harry 4 ? ? ?

This looks like a perfect opportunity to learn about pivottables.

You can a row of headers (if you don't have them).
Then select the range (A1:Bxx), you don't need that last column if it's always
1.

Then (in xl2003 menus):
Data|Pivottable
follow the wizard until you get to a dialog with Layout on it.
Click that Layout button
Drag the header for Name into the row field.
Drag the header for Activity into the column field.
Then drag the header for Activity (a second time!) into the Data field).

Then finish up the wizard.
