Help With Folder Deletion Please

Here's a bizarre one...Not sure how, but when a torrent program I was using
crashed and XP rebooted, I was left with a folder on my desktop (XP sp2)
named after the torrent file. I soon discovered this had somehow created
some bizarre loop when it crashed so this folder contains many many many
folders; well past maximum depth from what I can tell.

So I referenced
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320081 which I think
contains the answer somewhere (likely in cause 4) but nothing I try works.
I'm still getting error messages which won't allow me to delete the folder.
I've tried renaming each and every folder as far down the path as I can go,
to a single character in hopes I'll reach the end but no luck...To give you
an idea, here's the current path:

"D:\d\\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\s\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d\original
file name"

That's as far as I can go with that approach as I've reached maximum
depth...So any hints/suggestions on how I might get rid of this stupid
freakin' folder would be most appreciated!

Hi,
Perhaps it could be accessed and deleted in safe mode? Just a thought.
HTH

Unfortunately, safe mode made no difference whatsoever, but I appreciate the
thought as I hadn't considered that option.
