Hello everyone, I'm asking for help with performing a clean sweep on my
computer. I have a Windows XP Home Edition which I believe to be an OEM
version. I have problems with every application on my PC and feel it
necessary to wipe off everything and do a fresh installation. Can anyone
tell me if this process is available with an OEM version? Thank you.

If you boot with an OEM CD and use it to reinstall things it will ONLY
install everything as if it was an original install. Nothing will be saved.
So, just boot from the CD and follow the prompts to install - everything
will be lost and you will have a 'fresh' install.

You can probably fix everything w/o resorting to a clean sweep. Have
you checked for malware? Updated and run an anti-virus, updated and
run Spybot S&D?

Sometimes starting over may be faster than repairing, if you feel
that's the case just insert the OEM CD, boot on the CD (you must set
your BIOS to boot on the CD before the harddrive) and delete the XP
partition and install fresh. If the OEM CD is a recovery CD it will
delete everything and install fresh.
