help with changing preset format used for bulletting/outline

When I begin my creation of an outline from within Microsoft Word 2003 I click on Format > Bullets and Numbering. I then select the style of Buletting that I want by clicking on the Outline Numbered tab then clicking on the customize button at the lower right portion of the window. From the customize menu I select the desired Number Format Level and then click the Font button to customize the font for that level. Unfortunately, after having customized each level to size 10, font style Regular my text after every bullet still defaults to font size 14, font style Bold

If the steps that I have taken to customize the font for the entirety of my outline only work to customize the font for the actual bullets that precede the text, what steps are necessary to change the default text size for the entirety of my outline

This is driving me insane. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

my outline only work to customize the font for the actual bullets that
precede the text, what steps are necessary to change the default text size
for the entirety of my outline?
