Hello all,
I have a severe problem. To give a quick background, I recently had my
PDA stolen. The compter I used to synch it up with recently burned up the
system board. I also no longer work for the company that I did, when I used
Outlook on that particular computer. Anyhow, I have my OST file from that
system, but I cannot get it to open on another computer. I do not have any
other copies of my contacts, and there are a bunch of friends listed in
there, that without my PDA, I have no way of contacting them. Can anyone,
please, tell me a way of importing, or opening, my old OSt file, on a new
computer, with the same version of Outlook? Any assistance would be
tremendously appreciated. Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can
provide,

BA

Sorry - to add to your long list of disasters, your .ost is toast.

I was so afraid someone was going to say that. Is there any way possible to
get my contact information back, that you might be able to think of? Thanks,
again, for your help,

BA

You will likely need to pony up some cash at www.exchangerecovery.com
....also try googling for OST2PST but I haven't had good luck with that in
recent versions of Outlook. Make a backup of your OST first & work on the
copy.

You ought to make good full backups of your system, regularly - and note
that since it sounds like you haven't had connectivity to your old Exchange
server for some time, you should've exported your data to a PST file and
created a new profile to use that - OST files are linked to the mailbox you
used to connect to. Hope this helps.

Very glad to hear it. At the obscenely steep price they charge, it had
better work, right??
