hello,
i'm running a laptop (ibm - a31p) with windowsXP/SP1
installed. I recently purschased the Wireless G BroadBand
Router (WRT54G) with teh G Notebook Adapter (wpc54g).
In the initial setup of the router, i had my laptop in
it's docking station, i removed the laptop form the DS and
installed the G Card, i configured the card appropriately
(Enable WEP - DIsable SSID Broadcast and so forth)
Everything was working fine, the internet access was super
speedy... up until i had to use the docking station again,
since then, my G card does not receive an IP from the
router (192.168.1.100), it receives an automatic IP adress
(169.254...), consequently, when docked, the local NIC
receives the 192.168.1.100 IP...i heard that this was an
issue and that there's a way around this...any help woudl
be great...
i have since re-installed the drivers for the G notebook
card, thinking it would be the router, i tested another
laptop with another card (dlink) and it worked fine, so
the problem is with the local nic conflicting with the G
card...HELP!!!!
thanks
