It's not my monitor. Right now I have my monitor turned up
on end so that I can type upright/use the mouse without
lying down horizontally to view and read the screen and
type this message. I cannot find any info anywhere from
anyone as to the problem and the remedy. No one I've
talked with has ever seen this problem. What?!! Any advice
or level of expertise is welcome. Thanks from an old lady
in Texas.

Your video driver has a setting which rotates the picture 90 degrees at a
time. You can watch your monitor upside down if you like.

Video drivers with this feature often have so-called hot key combinations
which allow you to rotate the image from your keyboard. Users unwittingly
press the correct combination of keys and - voila - gravity is defied.

To make things right again, right-click on a blank area of the desktop and
choose Properties from the context menu. Select the Settings tab and click
the Advanced button. Look around until you see the control that rotates the
image on your monitor.
