Help Win xp screwed

I dont know what happened, I just got home and got on the
computer, and nothing will open it seems like, i cant run
restore, cant open hardly anything, it wont open .exe
files, nothing, i dont know how it opens internet
explorer., ive tried alot of things already, but to no
avail, even did a restore off the cd, not a new install
because i dont wanna lose all my music and pics, but i did
a restore that way, and when it completed and booted up, i
still wasnt able to open any programs of files
kept asking me for a program to open them with

Try another one. Perhaps an "online" one. Cant hurt.

Hi, Sean.

You can try Start/Run and type sfc /scannow to repair any damaged system
files. If this fails, go to

www.symantec.com and have them scan your PC. Anything found they will have
the tools to fix it right away.
