I ran msconfig this morning and found the item "ctres32.exe" listed.
It wasn't there last week. I did a google search and found nothing on
this file.
I did a virus scan, and ran Ad-Aware.
What is this file and why is it in my startup? Do I need it?
I haven't loaded any programs that would put this there.
Thanks

Hi

It 'may' be in relation to the software for a Creative Labs Webcam - have you got one?

Creative Labs Video driver? Try searching the internet, not Google

Have you looked at the properties of this file to see which program it is
associated with?

Hi

No I don't have anything like that, only a Kodak digital camera. I found
the file and looked at the properties and it said created Sept. 2002,
but I'm positive it wasn't in my msconfig last week.
So I guess I can safely remove this from msconfig?
I visited many sties on the web yesterday searching for prices for a
network card. Wonder if I get it that way?
Thanks

Hi

Uncheck it in msconfig and reboot your system. If everything is OK, you can use the following file to delete any other unchecked items in msconfig:

Thanks, I've already did as you suggested and un-checked it and all
appears fine.
I believe I will pass on the program that messes with my registers, but
thanks for posting the link.
