When I go into my control panel and press the "User Accounts" button,it
doesn't work and the window doesn't pop up. Although, when I click any of the
other buttons(ex. Accesibility Options) they all work. Gr,anyone know whats
up with it? Has this happened to you before?

Does this command work in the Run Command in the Start Menu?

Nusrmgr.cpl

This should bring up the User Acounts.

Nope, that doesn't seem to be working :( I press ok,then the little hour glass
comes up for about two seconds then dissapears, and nothing shows.

Open a CMD prompt window and type this command: (without quotes)

"assoc .hta=htafile"

Then, open Windows\System32 folder and note down the file-size for mshta.exe. Post the info here.

Hi,
I have a similar problem as described in this post and when i did what
Ramesh said i noticed that i have no mshta .exe file in system32 but when i
did a search for it in the whole of the windows folder i found about 4 of
them, the largest being about 24 kb. So what do i do now?

Jeremy,

Extract a copy of mshta.exe from XP CD and place it in the System32 folder. BTW, it's a 29Kb file in my system (with XP SP2 loaded)

Ramesh,
Unfortunately My Computer did not come with a Windows XP disk so i cant get
the file from a CD. I used a friends XP disk but the file on that did not
work and it was only 11kb (Windows SP1a)
Any Other suggestions?

Forget about the Last Post, Its:
SOLVED

I realised that the other mshta files in the rest of the windows were
supposed to go in system 32. It must have been a problem they overlooked from
SP2 or someting else. Thx for helping though

You're welcome Jeremy. I'm assuming that you got this issue resolved by placing the mshta.exe file to the System32 folder, as stated earlier.
