Hi

Which version of XP are you running ATM? If you upgraded from a previous
version and opted to save the uninstall files, there should be an entry in
Add/Remove Programs to uninstall. If you opted not to save the uninstall
files, you may have to reformat/reinstall.

Have a look at the following articles by Michael Stevens:

"How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install"

"Clean Install Windows XP"

I have the windows home edition which includes the service pack 1a. I guess
thats what you want. I honestly do not care about saving any information on
the computer. I really just want to start all over again. I loved compaq
for this reason. Dell is a good computer but so hard for someone who knows
only the basics of a computer......

The normal way to "uninstall" any operating system is to format
the hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

Only if you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to backup
the old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS, can
you then boot into Safe Mode and click Start > Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions must be met for the
uninstall option to be available.

Otherwise:

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
