Help to resolve 80070057

Several similar questions but I can understand solution...
As background I am using MS Office Outlook 2003 - I have been using Outlook
for several years, however when sending an email to a display name (e-mail
address hidden unless look under property right click on display name).

I received the following error message from the progress window -
! Task 'mail. (pop3 server) .net - Sending' reported error (0x80070057) :
'Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not
valid.'

If I just type the email address it works ... so what is wrong with using
the display name ... the product doesn't seem to cope.

Your assistance in plain instructions would be appreciated... Manx Thanx

I ran into the same problem. In my case, the account type was wrong
(EX instead of SMTP). Following the directions at
http://kamhungsoh.com/blog/2007_07_01_archive.html#5448479128472249563
fixed it.
