Daniel,

What exact error message or condition are you observing? Be as complete and
precise as possible, as diagnosis goes much better with accurate observation.

One of the most common causes of a problem like this would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this
article with an open mind.

If you like, you may provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, and we'll can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):

I'd bet a firewall or authentication issue. Are the computers running XP Home
or Pro? If Pro, Simple or Advanced File Sharing? Details count.

I'll try and help you, but you'll be doing the most work. Troubleshooting
