Help:System Restore,"Boarders","Mouse" problems

Hi,
My freind has Windows XP.She got problems with her PC and needs help.Here is
her problems:::

" For some odd reason I currently can't use system restore. I have Windows
XP and in the past I always used it to correct problems/changes on my PC but
it won't allow me to restore anymore.
I also have a large black boarder around my monitor & at the top of the
screen there are thin white lines (this makes viewing the browser menu a bit
difficult). Perhaps the black boarder was always there but I don't seem to
recall it. hehe! However, I know the whites lines are new & not normal. haha!
Oh, and the latest problem is with my mouse. I have an optical mouse not the
ball type. Anyway, the mouse doesn't seem to click with ease anymore on the
left. The right is fine but the left side seem harder to click and sometimes
I click and it doesn't move or respond.I first thought it was maybe a virus
but I have Norton Anti-Virus software and it's not revealing anything at the
moment so I don't understand what might be wrong."""
