The "Help & Support button on my start menue does nothing,
how can I get it to operate?

Try doing this. Goto Start>>Run>> and
type "C:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\Binaries\hscupd.exe",
hit enter.

Chris, thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately it
didn't fix the
problem.
The little routine ran fine, I rebooted but no joy I'm
afraid.
Thanks again

Hi Are you also unable to open "System Information"
from "System Tools" group?
As for the Help and Support I've tried all the fixes
suggested but nothing seems to work. I've noticed that
when you open Task Manager at the Applications tab when
you click on Help & Support an application "SysFader"
starts to run and then stop but I can't seem to find any
info on its function.

I've also tried this but it doesn't seem to help when I
look in there is an entry in the logs
folder "HCUPDATE" "Failed to copy
C:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\Binaries\HSCXPSP1.CAB into
package store".
Why??

Hi Ed,

For the latter mention of SysFader:

Right click a blank area on the Desktop/Properties/Appearance
/Effects. In the Effects dialog box, click to clear the: "Use the following
Transition effect for menus and tooltips check box, and ok your way out.
