I'm using Excel 2003, and I can't seem to edit the contents of an unlocked
cell when I protect the worksheet. Hitting F2 in these cells deletes the
content of the cells. I am allowed to enter in new data, but I would prefer
that F2 would work as it does with unprotected worksheets (i.e., and allow me
to modify the cell's existing information). I've done a lot of testing on
this, including on other machines, even other versions (2000 and 2002). Is
this really an "undocumented feature" or am I losing my mind?

Phil,

I am using Excel2000 on Win2000 and when I press F2 in an unlocked cell in a
protected worksheet, F2 functions as expected. That is, it lets me edit (add
to) the existing entry.

Dominic - Thanks for the response. I was mistaken - I only tested on Excel
2002 and 2003, not Excel 2000, and both on Win2000. So not sure what to do
next, as it is not working....

You have other responses at your other thread.

Hi Dave - Yes, thank you. In hindsight, I probably should have posted only
once. First time rookie mistake....
