Had same problems last week. Instead of repair go into install it will ask you again to repair. I tried it this way still no luck
so i deleted and reinstalled windows. Now all is well. I was getting errors that files were damaged put in cd and repair

I have had the same problem and have a solution if you have an
HP computer.

A tech at Compuserve told me to keep tapping the F-10 key when starting the
computer. It will open up a recovery system which allows
you to do a "non-destructive" recovery. It will remove all software that
has been installed but does not remove any data files.

After the process is completed you can re-install your software and
all files will be there.

I did this and it worked. I am back up and running.
