I went into "my computer"....

I highlighted one of my drives...

I clicked on "properties"

I clicked on "auto play"

I set the drive to look for Music files...

I tried to set that part to Picture files (for auto play)

and the windows XP home edition will not change this box from music
files to picture files.

I have went into this property box and changed the settings from music
to pictures about two thousand times, but each time I check on it..
the Music name is back as the default setting...

Can someone advise me on how to change this setting and have it
stay.... I do more digital photographs than music and would love to
have the "picture setting as my default setting.. or at least have it
stay for one darn cd disc........

Thank you for any advise or reponses you might be kind enough to
send..

my email address is: (e-mail address removed)

Also look at the extensive auto play info at Kelly's link, below.

You are missing one step. Once you click the autoplay tab and then click the drop down list arrow and the choose pictures you need to the put a dot in "select an action to perform" and then choose the open folder option or if you want to make a choicke each time then put a dot in the "prompt me each time" circle and then you have to be sure and click apply. Welcom to XP :~)
