I have (badly) set up passwords for my db using wizard, however i am
completely overwelmed by all the users/admins/groups...and i basicaly want to
delete all trace of passwords and security and start again once I have read
up more about it! can anyone advise me how to completely undo all the
security i have installed?
any help is very much appreciated!

If you only ran the wizard once, you'll find it created a backup of your
unsecure mdb (if you ran it more than once, that's another story).

In the folder where your mdb is located you'll find the backup - it's named
the same as your secure mdb but it has a bak extension. Rename it to have a
mdb extension and you should be able to open it while using the standard
system.mdw that ships with Access (requiring no login).

i must have run it more than oce, because the password function still comes
up...do you know what to do if i did run the wizard more than once?

Did you change your defalt workgroup back to System.mdw? The workgroup is what
determines whether you get a login prompt or not.

i'm not sure how to do this?!!

Open Access (no mdb). Go to Tools, Workgroup Administrator and click on
Join. Re-join system.mdw that ships with Access (you might want to search
for it first to locate it). Then try opening the backup.

If that fails, then use Tools, Search and locate all *.mdw files on your
computer. Rename each one. Then open Access, and the restored backup.
