I want to run a scheduled (unattended) backup process by using software that
has a scheduler, can make a full backup, and then updates to that by CD
burning. Or, I guess I'm willing to listen to a better approach.

I have tried XDrive offsite backups but had to many bad backups, failures,
and the software was buggy.

I'm trying Nero 6 Backup now - it looked good - but its scheduling options
are weak and disc pops out when done so it can't run continued unattended
updates.

I am running XP Home and know it has backup software but have never been
able to get the process to burn a CD and it will not run repeat schedules,
unattended for me.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure there is backup software that will actually burn a cd for
you unattended. However, since I haven't tried to do that, maybe there
is. You didn't say whether this backup was for a business, the size of
the business, what your price range is, or any of that. You might want
to look at Retrospect by Dantz (www.dantz.com) or some of the offerings
from Veritas (www.veritas.com). For a good, inexpensive backup program,
you might want to look at SecondCopy by Centered Systems
(www.centered.com); although SC will not automatically burn a cd for
you. If you are backing up a remote server, then perhaps a tape backup
would be a better solution, although I would only recommend a very
high-end tape backup package.
