Help. search window opening everytime i access hard drives

I have stupidly set the hard drive so that everytime i open it, the file
search facility opens up how can i stop this so that when i open my harddrive
it just shows the files as normal.

You could follow the instructions in the Resolution section of this MSKB

D/load and run Doug Knox's folder_open.vbs:

The above applies to drives as well as file folders.
