I am using IE6.
I have noticed recently that everytime I mis-type a web address I am
presented with a search page from http://www.about.co.uk

I am constantly getting pop up windows asking if I wish to make this
my homepage.

I have uninstalled all peer to peer networks and run Ad Aware, but
still this problem persists!

Can anyone please tell me how I can stop this happening?
I would be most grateful for any help.
Many Thanks,
John

You have been hit by an hijacker. There are several methods of
eliminating the problem. I was able to do a system restore to get things
back and Spybot has kept several other tries from taking control since then.

I'll let others who know more about it, offer more specific advice.

cw shredder is just about defunct. The program author has posted on his web
site that he is no longer writing updates, as his personal life has become
more important than providing the program.

| find CWShredder on the internet, it will remove it

System Restore did it for me, but I now make sure I run ad-aware and keep
my AV and Firewall bang up to date.
