Hi

When I create a relationship in the relationships window, and then close and
re-open the relationships window, the relationship line disappears! I think
the relationship is still active as it all seems to work ok. I've tried
selecting "show all" but it has no effect. I have read about similar
problems using Access 2000... has anyone else had this problem using Access
2003?

It's starting to drive me crazy and is seriously affecting the progress of
the project. Your expertise and advice will be much apprecciated.

Thank you.
Rich

Assuming that these are not attached tables, it sounds like Access is
getting confused, and Name AutoCorrect would be the first culprit to
suspect.

Try this:

1. Uncheck the boxes under:
Tools | Options | General | Name AutoCorrect
Explanation of why:

2. Compact the database to get rid of this junk:
Tools | Database Utilities | Compact

3. If that does not work, the next step would be to create a new (blank)
database, turn of Name AutoCorrupt, and then import all the tables via:
File | Get External | Import
In that dialog, choose the Options button, and uncheck the box for
Relationships. Once you have the table in the new database, you should then
be able to recreate the relations.

Thanks Allen.
I have just imported all the objects as you describe and it has immediately
ended the nightmare of disappearing relationships. (Touch wood), Access
seems to now work (!) and not arbitrarily crash when various events take
place.
Phew.

Thanks again for your help... much apprecciated

Rich
