Hi there,
I have a client machine with Win2k SP4 and MS Office XP
with the latest service pack.
The problem is quite simple to summarise:
The client machine uses files on a shared folder on an NT
4.0 server, as do another 25 machines around the office.
However, when this machine opens the documents, 90% of the
time they will open as read-only.
The only way to work around this is to browse to the
document in Explorer, right-click on Properties, and then
click the Security tab. This seems to fix the problem, as
the client machine will then be able to open the document.
Please help me! I have been trying to fix this problem for
weeks!!
Many thanks,
Luke
