Help, re web access and firewall!

I have windows xp pro, following a windows automatic download I find that I
am unable to access the web unless my Norton firewall has been disabled.
Any help would be grearly appreciated.
 
if you mean you now have sp2 then you also have the windows firewall.
It does say that two firewalls are not needed and likely to clash

Norton is certainly better
uninstall norton firewall
ensure windows one is ON
reinstall norton

should then be ok

Thanks for your advice, I have enabled the windows firewall, and
disabled the norton firewall. I am unable to reinstall the norton firewall,
if I decide to uninstall it, as it was already installed on the p.c. when I
bought it and I don't have a cd to use to reinstall it. However the problem
of not being able to access the internet seems to be sorted even though I am
probaly using an inferior firewall.
